F1 | Haas, Magnussen: “We achieved pole position in the 'B championship'. We'll have our backs in the race."

At Silverstone the Haas finds confirmation: after the splendid weekend in Austria, the US team enters the Q3 as a whole and places first Kevin Magnussen e Romain Grosjean in the fourth row, in 7th and 8th place respectively, just behind the top teams. This is how the two drivers commented on their qualifying session.

"I'm really happy. Considering that we practically didn't race yesterday afternoon and that in the morning we only did one lap on the soft tires, I think there was a good recovery. FP3, due to the red flag, wasn't easy, yet we placed two cars in 7th and 8th position. I think it was the best we could do, so we can be very happy. On my last lap I didn't push as hard as I could, but I think it was the right thing to do. For the team, 7th and 8th places are fantastic: I think we can have a great race. If we can have all the luck we had in Austria, it will be great. But if we can run alone, doing our own race, it will be equally pleasant.".

“We have this 'B league' that we're focusing on with everyone else in the mid-table - it's really fun. There's a lot of pressure because we're all close, but we finished 7th and 8th, with Haas proving better than the others. It's the pole position of the 'B championship', so I'm really happy. It's a good position, we won't be looking at those in front of us, but at those behind us. It will be like starting from pole position. The pilots in front of us will move forward and disappear. If I can finish the first lap in the same position, which will be difficult, I hope to have a clear track and be able to look after my tyres. We'll see: today was a good starting point for the race".
