F1 | Haas, Giovinazzi: “It's a good feeling to be back in the car, I'm happy”

F1 | Haas, Giovinazzi: “It's a good feeling to be back in the car, I'm happy”

At the end of Friday's free practice at Interlagos, the Haas draw the first conclusions. Romain Grosjean, 13th in FP1 and 15th in the afternoon, analyzed his day like this: “It was a decent Friday. We put a lot of miles on it and tried a few things on the car. The morning wasn't bad, but in the afternoon we weren't very fast. However it was good to have a dry Friday when everyone thought it would be wet. I always love driving here: we did the best we could today.".

Kevin Magnussen, before giving way to Antonio Giovinazzi, finished the first free practice sessions in 14th place, almost three tenths behind Grosjean: “FP1 didn't go badly, but we still need to sort out some things regarding systems and balancing" – said the Dane. “I did four laps on the supersofts with almost the same time on the clock, yet it should be the tire to use for just one lap in qualifying. Antonio ran a sort of FP1 program in the afternoon: I shared my thoughts with him and we tried to take advantage of each other.".

Finally, the ball passes to Antonio Giovinazzi, who replaced Magnussen in FP2, closing the session in last place: "It was a great feeling to be back in the car and help the team again by doing a lot of laps. It was a difficult Friday, going from FP1 to FP2 (originally the Italian was supposed to take part in FP1, ed.), but in the end we did a lot of laps and a high fuel load simulation. We've done some things differently than we've done previously, so I'm happy. Once again, I thank the team for the opportunity".
