F1 | Haas confirms Pietro Fittipaldi as third driver and development driver

Through a note published this morning, Haas confirmed Pietro fittipaldi in the role of “Official Test and Reserve Driver” for the 2023 Formula 1 season.

Now a veteran within the US team, the Brazilian driver will work alongside the officials, Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg, and will take care of the simulator activities and some track sessions during the season. A 360° commitment that will allow Guenther Steiner to count on a driver who is now "tested" and who knows the dynamics and methodologies inside the small American team perfectly. Fittipaldi, we remember, has been working at Haas since the 2019 season.

“I have repeatedly reiterated that consistency and continuity are the keys to success in Formula 1,” said Steiner, the team's TP. “Pietro, precisely in this sense, will remain with us also in 2023 and this will guarantee us a solid base on which to work. In Formula 1 you have to react with little warning to any scenario and Pietro is a proven artist at this."

“He has the experience and skills to get behind the wheel straight away and extract the best of his talent. He did so in 2020 as an official driver for the last two races of the season, while last year he took part in the pre-season tests, as well as several track sessions. He is an important asset for our team and I look forward to continuing to work with him in 2023,” he concluded.
