F1 | Gutierrez: “My goal is to return to Formula 1”

Last week on the Silverstone circuit he made his first appearance as a Mercedes simulator driver, now he is trying to return permanently to Formula 1. We are talking about Esteban Gutierrez, a Mexican driver who is already well known within the paddock, after having driven for Sauber, Ferrari (as third driver) and Haas from 2013 to 2016. After a disappointing season, however, the American team did not renew his contract, leaving him stranded and looking for a seat: there had long been talk of his possible landing in Manor, but the failure of the small English team blew everything up.

After his experience in Formula 1, Gutierrez traveled the world, racing in IndyCar and Formula E, but he didn't miss the opportunity to return to the Circus with Mercedes, albeit only as a simulator driver, in order to help the team German during the race weekends: “I spend a lot of time in the simulator, while still taking care of my preparation. At Mercedes I am part of a long-term project and I am giving my all to contribute to the team's success,” the Mexican told Auto Hebdo.

The objective, however, remains that of returning permanently to Formula 1, with a role as an official driver: "My objective is to return to Formula 1 and I am doing everything possible to achieve this" concluded Gutierrez.
