F1 | Grosjean on 2018: “McLaren will fight with Red Bull, then there will be Renault”

In 2018 the Formula 1 hierarchies could undergo clear changes. The changes made, in terms of Power Unit, by McLaren, Toro Rosso e Clean (updated Ferrari engine), in fact, could create a domino effect whose extent only the first GP in Australia would be able to identify. The Haas driver Romain Grosjean he outlined the next season like this, immediately identifying the teams that, in his opinion, will make the greatest leap forward: "McLaren will be very strong: it has huge resources, it has probably the biggest factory in Formula 1. The Renault engine is decent, they had some reliability problems but the power of the engine is good: Renault is at a high level, they have developed quite well and are already ahead of us. I really think that McLaren will be fighting with the Red Bull, then there will be Renault".

If the top five, therefore, is easily conceivable, the same can be said for the second half of the group: "The question marks are upon us, on Force India, on Williams and on Toro Rosso with the new Power Unit (Honda, ed.)" – explained Grosjean. “Some teams will perhaps have a less powerful Power Unit, so they could drop. We have to do our job, we know where to improve, there are some areas we need to focus on. We will have to make sure that the updates, when they arrive, work. So we wouldn't waste three months of time introducing something that doesn't actually deliver what it should." – concluded the Frenchman.
