F1 | Hungarian Grand Prix: Red double at the Hungaroring

Seb, Kimi and the whole team celebrate a success incredibly suffered.

Mogyorod – It's there fourth win , second double of the year for Scuderia Ferrari, I number them 228 e 83 respectively in the team's history. For Seb Vettel the seventh success in red and the 46th in his career, for everyone who works at Maranello the culmination of an enormous effort, in a race that was anything but easy despite the front row at the start.

The two hold their positions well SF70H at the start, with Whom who follows Seb, while there is a brawl behind and Ricciardo gets a puncture in a collision. Daniel remains on the track and the safety car immediately comes out. It also takes time to clean traces of oil from asphalt. The first five laps go like this. The Ferraris' restart is excellent, behind them are Bottas, Verstappen (who however will have to serve a 10" penalty for the collision with his teammate) and Hamilton. At this stage, the two Reds are the fastest cars on the track, the only ones to lap under 1'23”.

A third of the way through the race the situation is unchanged, except for the fact that the two leading cars are saving on performance. Then Seb warns of an anomaly with the steering wheel, which tends to 'bend' to the left on a straight line. Kimi is just over a second closer. Red #5 goes into the pits at the end of lap 32, when the rivals behind have already changed tyres. Out with the Supers, in with the Softs. On the following lap Kimi also stopped and found himself immediately behind his teammate on the exit. The times fluctuate a bit, also due to the traffic on the track. On lap 43 the two Reds return to the top, after Verstappen's delayed stop. Behind, the two Mercedes swap positions without fighting. And we arrive with fifteen laps to go with three cars within two seconds. Seb extends well on lap 58, his best pass of the race. Kimi responded in kind to keep Hamilton out of the DRS zone.

The final laps are in full swing, Seb can't use the lines as he would like, but he continues to hold on. Like Kimi right behind. It is the most beautiful arrival, the reward for a team that knows it must never give up.
