curve: 14

Special features of the route

Formula 1 returned to the Istanbul track last year, after nine years of absence. The first works on the Intercity Istanbul Park (the project was designed by Hermann Tilke) began in 2003 and were concluded in 2005 on the occasion of the first Formula 1 race. The circuit measures 5.338 meters and has 14 curves (8 left and 6 on the right) and 4 straights. The most treacherous curve is "Curve 8", a very long curve to the left, with several apexes. Another famous curve is the one called "Faux Rouge", due to its resemblance to the famous "Eau Rouge" of Spa.

For this type of track, a medium-high load is recommended, however, Mercedes and Red Bull, enjoying greater aerodynamic efficiency, could use lower set-ups which allow them to both manage fuel better and have greater speed on the straights . Given the characteristics of the circuit, we could see a lot of overtaking, also favored by the double DRS zone.
