F1 – Russian Grand Prix: fourth row for Ferrari

Ferrari F1 – The F14 T's Fernando Alonso e Kimi Raikkonen they will start the Russian Grand Prix paired in the fourth row. The two Scuderia Ferrari drivers were close in performance for all three phases of qualifying and even at the end of Q3 there were just 62 thousandths between the Spaniard and the Finn. The pole position went to Lewis Hamilton with Mercedes: for the Brit it is number 38, for the German team it is the 32nd.

Fernando and Kimi had no problems getting through Q1 with the Finn seventh and a tenth and a half quicker than the Spaniard. Q2 was more difficult, because the track and tire performance continued to improve and therefore we had to fight until the end to enter the final phase. Alonso passed with the eighth fastest time, doing better than Raikkonen by just 50 thousandths.

In the final phase, given the low tire degradation, almost all the drivers remained on the track from the first to the last minute. Fernando achieved the eighth fastest time with 1'39”709 while Kimi stopped the clock at 1'39”771, in ninth position. However, the two will start together from the fourth row due to the penalty that will hit Kevin Magnussen, sixth, who replaced the gearbox.

Hamilton and Rosberg (Mercedes) will start in front of the F14 Ts; Bottas (Williams) and Button (McLaren); Kvyat (Toro Rosso) and Ricciardo (Red Bull). The race starts at 15pm local time, 13pm in Italy.
