F1 | Turkish GP, Stroll in pole position: “One of the greatest moments of my career”

No one could have imagined that the cover driver of Saturday's qualifying session for the Turkish Grand Prix could be Lance Stroll. Instead, the Canadian from Racing Point achieved an extraordinary pole position, the first of his career, managing to outwit Max Verstappen. In fact, the Dutchman seemed to be the main candidate to start from the pole seen, the one he had shown on the track in official practice, but instead he had to settle for the second half

A nice revenge for Lance, too often criticized and who instead in critical conditions managed - as happened in Monza 2017 - to show his true talent.

"I am shocked. We weren't so competitive in the last free practice, now I'm so happy – admitted Stroll at the end of qualifying – The last lap went really well. I had confidence in the car and every corner went perfectly, I did well all round and it's nice to bounce back after a difficult few weeks. This is a special moment for me, one of the biggest in my career".
