F1 | United States GP: Verstappen in the lead, engine change for Leclerc

The third round of the United States Grand Prix recently ended. The fastest of all at the end of the session was Max Verstappen, who set the best time in 1:33.305; the Dutchman precedes Sebastian Vettel and a very good Lando Norris.

Problems for Leclerc: at the beginning of the session the Monegasque stopped due to an engine problem. At the Ferrari garage they are working to fix the car in time for qualifying and most likely, Leclerc will receive a penalty.

Valtteri Bottas follows in fourth place, ahead of Lewis Hamilton. Sixth time for Alex Albon ahead of Carlos Sainz, Kimi Raikkonen, Pierre Gasly and Daniel Ricciardo.

News – The sun is shining on the Austin circuit with warmer temperatures than yesterday. 17 degrees in the air and 25 on the asphalt. The session begins and the riders complete the first installation laps. 15 minutes after the start, the first to set a time was Romain Grosjean with 1:36.579 but the first twist came, Leclerc's stop due to engine problems.

Sebastian Vettel begins to make up ground and moves into second position. Raikkonen leads 1:36.067 but Vettel replies with 1:34.733. Giovinazzi gains third place and Hamilton climbs to second position, with Bottas taking the lead with 1:34.558.
Vettel replies with 1:34.441, Bottas second, 80 thousandths behind the German. The German lowers the time to 1:34.339 and Verstappen climbs to second position but the Ferrari driver will have his lap cancelled.

With about 20 minutes to go, Verstappen goes first with 1:34.186; he will then be overtaken by Bottas with 1:33.904.
Vettel takes the lead back 11 minutes from the end with 1:33.523, Hamilton in third place and Verstappen closes on the German in second place by a tenth. Nice recovery for McLaren with Sainz's fifth fastest time and Norris' third!
Seven minutes from the end of the session, Verstappen returns ahead of Vettel with 1:33.305. Lewis Hamilton manages to improve to fifth position after the checkered flag.
