F1 | GP Singapore, Saturday to forget in Williams
Both drivers eliminated at the end of the first heat: Massa 17th, Stroll 18th
Bitter Saturday at the Williams house. In qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix, both of the Grove team's single-seaters failed to pass the trap in the first heat.
Felipe Massa went over the 17th time, while Lance Stroll did worse than the Brazilian (18th). Furthermore, in his first attempt in Q1, Massa touched the outside wall after turn 21, causing the right rear puncture.
“There's a lot of frustration – declared Massa – On my first lap I had a lot of oversteer, hit the wall and suffered a puncture. I was lucky to have this problem just before entering the pit lane, changing tires and rejoining again. Even in the second attempt I suffered from oversteer at the last corner: I lost half a second and the possibility of going to Q2. I'm very disappointed because Q2 was possible today. We will try to give everything tomorrow, let's hope it can be a different day".
"I could have done better, I'm not satisfied – Stroll's comment – It was a difficult session, where we had to take risks to try to get into Q2, but I didn't make it. The asphalt has changed a lot compared to the other sessions. The car wasn't at its best".
