F1 | Silverstone GP: Leclerc and Vettel at the top, Hamilton third

The third free practice session of the Silverstone Grand Prix recently ended and surprisingly we found a very competitive Ferrari. The best time goes to Charles Leclerc in 1:25.905. Sebastian Vettel is second, ahead of Lewis Hamilton who has a gap of just 49 thousandths from the first Ferrari.

Fourth and fifth position for the Red Bulls of Pierre Gasly and Max Verstappen who precede the other Mercedes of Valtteri Bottas. Lando Norris was seventh, followed by the Renaults of Nico Hulkenberg and Daniel Ricciardo in eighth and ninth place. Alexander Albon's Toro Rosso closes the top 10.

For the first 30 minutes there was little action due to the rain, but let's see what happened on the track with our recap.

News – The session begins with 16th in the air and 23rd on the asphalt, Lando Norris, Alexander Albon and the Haas of Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen immediately take to the track.

The first recorded time is George Russell's 1:31.810.

The rain falls at Silverstone, little action until 30 minutes to go, when some interesting times start to appear, given the improvement of the track.

Hamilton takes the lead with 1:28.988, the Englishman beat Hulkenberg by a few thousandths. Bottas takes the lead with 1:27.524. Charles Leclerc does better than him in 1:27.446, Vettel climbs to third position.

Hamilton regains first position with 1:26.746 but Bottas replies with 1:26.458. The Englishman lowers his time again with 1:26.338. Worth keeping an eye on for qualifying are the Red Bulls who climb to third and fourth position with Verstappen and Gasly.

Ten minutes from the end, Leclerc took first place very quickly in 1:25.905, Vettel eight tenths behind the Monegasque.

Vettel climbs to second position, 26 thousandths behind his teammate. We reach the checkered flag with Lewis Hamilton approaching Leclerc's time with only 49 thousandths separating the two drivers.
