F1 | Russian GP, Leclerc finishes sixth in Sochi

Scuderia Ferrari leaves the Sochi Autodrom with a sixth place taken by Charles Leclerc and a 13th by Sebastian Vettel in a race that was linear and free of twists after the two accidents that on the first lap forced the race direction to enter the Safety Car.

Tire management. Charles, who started from tenth position, managed to immediately climb to eighth, benefiting from the accidents of Carlos Sainz, who ended up against the barriers in turn 2, and Lance Stroll, who spun in turn 4 following a contact with the same Monegasque, and he then based his race on perfect tire management. Leclerc was the third to last driver to stop to change tires, switching from Medium to Hard on lap 29. Thanks to his constant and error-free racing behavior, Charles managed to recover two further positions from Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon, finishing the race in sixth place behind Daniel Ricciardo's Renault.

Vettel. Sebastian maintained fourteenth position at the start and fought close to the points zone for the entire race. The German changed tires on the 31st lap and in the end was the author of some overtakings without however managing to finish in the top 10. The World Championship is now stopped for a week: it will resume on 11 October with the Grand Prix of 'Eifel, which will see the return of the Nürburgring circuit to the Formula 1 calendar, a track which was last raced on in 2013 when Sebastian Vettel won.
