F1 | GP Russia, the promoters: "It will still be called that, we are talking to the FIA"

The organizers of the Russian Grand Prix are continuing preparations for the Formula 1 race scheduled for the end of September, despite the world's largest country's anti-doping ban from international sport. In fact, some controversy has arisen regarding the Haas livery, which bluntly recalls the Russian flag, but for example Mazepin will not be able to show it on his suit. Alexey Titov, promoter of the Grand Prix which will always be held in the Olympic village of Sochi, told the agency Tass that we are still in negotiations with the FIA ​​on the consequences that this decision may have on the September race.

“We're still trying to figure out what's going to happen – Titov said. The FIA ​​must release details for all events. We have answers about the drivers, which is understandable, but the work on the organizational side is still ongoing. Obviously our anthem won't be played at the start of the Grand Prix and there won't be the Katyusha either, but I think it's good not to have a song instead of the anthem. Our athletes are capable of winning, so make everyone understand that we cannot be defeated by the absence of the anthem in official events. From a name point of view there will be no restrictions: they don't have the legal capacity to do so because the commercial rights belong to Formula 1, it will still be the Russian Grand Prix."
