Even in this second session there was no shortage of off-track exits and accidents, with three interventions by the VSC.

News – Temperatures rise, the green lights in the pit lane and Sebastian Vettel's Ferrari starts the second Free Practice session. The start for most of the drivers is on the supersoft compound while only Haas starts with the ultrasoft and immediately stops the clock: Gutierrez is in the lead but then it's Grosjean's turn, in 1:17.938.
Raikkonen, Kvyat, Perez and Hulkenberg are the only ones to start on the soft tyre. Vettel moves to third place and Kvyat climbs to second position. Gutierrez regains first place but Nico's Mercedes arrives to put everyone in line, lapping in 1:16.694.

Ricciardo has dropped to 1:14.607, and Hamilton, Rosberg, Verstappen, Kvyat, Sainz, Raikkonen, Perez, Button and Hulkenberg are chasing him.
