Some of the nine victories achieved by Ferrari in the history of the Monaco Grand Prix have allowed the Ferrari to interrupt long periods of fasting in the Principality, as happened in the last edition of the Monegasque race.

Favored by a short wheelbase single-seater, which was well suited to the Monte Carlo toboggan, the Cavallino team managed to monopolize the Monte Carlo weekend, relegating Mercedes and Red Bull to supporting roles.

The competitiveness of the SF70-H was evident right from free practice, which then resulted in a stunning front row in Saturday's qualifying. Compared to the last one-two achieved a month earlier in official testing on the Sochi track, Sebastian Vettel hands over the scepter of poleman to teammate Kimi Raikkonen.

The Finn, too often mistreated by ferocious criticism, produces a great performance in the streets of the Principality which allows him to beat his German teammate by just 43 thousandths. Raikkonen thus returns after 9 years (French GP 2008) to savor the joy of a pole start, identical period of time from the last all-red front row in Monte Carlo.

In the race the Cavallino's superiority was not undermined. Only the leadership changed after Raikkonen's stop in the hands of Vettel (lap 34), with the Finn showing a clear sulk on the podium for not being able to capitalize on a wonderful opportunity.

The change at the top of the two SF70-Hs does not change the history of the GP, with Ferrari returning as a forceful protagonist in Monte Carlo, scoring a great one-two.

A one-two that interrupts a long fast for the Red that had lasted for 16 years: since the 2001 edition of the Monegasque race signed by the Schumacher-Barrichello duo.
