F1 | GP Las Vegas, Liberty Media apologizes for the inconvenience caused to residents

The week that will end with the appointment has begun new entry of the 2023 calendar of formula 1: Las Vegas Grand Prix. The Circus therefore, after having stopped in Nevada at the beginning of the 80s racing on a track created inside the Caesars Palace car park, returns to Las Vegas on a track that will see the single-seaters speeding through the streets of the popular and luxurious Strip .

Liberty Media, which this year has brought the number of events on American soil to three after Miami and Austin, has apologized to all the residents who in recent months have had to live with the various works related to the construction of the track and all the surroundings necessary for the event.

“There will be 105.000 people, it will be the largest event for Las Vegas – said Greg Maffei, CEO of Liberty Media, interviewed by Fox5 – And it's not just about the audience of the race itself, since thousands of people are expected to visit Las Vegas this week to take part in the racing experience, even if they don't have tickets to the event. There will be parties from Wednesday to Sunday, almost a week of events and musical shows. Personalities from other sports will organize other side parties."

Speaking about costs, he added: “I'm not blaming our partners, the five-night minimum in hotels and things like that have contributed to increasing them. Not everything is included in the ticket price. The fact depends on the high demand and what drives it."

Maffei, completing his thoughts, said: “I want to apologize to all the residents of Las Vegas and we appreciate their patience and willingness to tolerate us. We will bring something like $1,7 billion in revenue to the area. So it's not just for the benefit of the fans who want to see the race. We hope this will be a great economic benefit to Las Vegas. This year was difficult due to the various constructions that went on, in the future things will be simpler."
