F1 GP Italy: Hamilton uncatchable, Mercedes one-two
Vettel third ahead of Ricciardo. The German loses the World Championship leadership
There was no match today at Monza, with the Mercedes who pocket their third double of the season and Lewis Hamilton who takes the head of the World, three points ahead of Hag, who came third under the checkered flag of Italian GP. The power unit of Silver Arrows today he roared more than ever, showing a superiority that left no chance for any of the rivals behind him to reply. Almost halfway through the race, Hamilton is the leader ahead of Bottas, Vettel, Massa, Ricciardo, Perez, Vandoorne, Ocon, Kimi and Stroll. The top seven have yet to stop. Vandoorne is overtaken in order by Ocon, Kimi and Stroll. Massa takes ninth place over Vandoorne. Further ahead, Bottas is 4.9s behind Hamilton, while Vettel is 20.9s from the top. Kimi takes sixth place over Ocon, and is now sandwiched between the two Force Indias. Vettel continues behind the two Mercedes, and ahead of Ricciardo, Perez, Kimi, Ocon, Stroll, Massa and Vandoorne. Sparks between Verstappen and Magnussen, with the Haas going out and then managing to rejoin. Haas reports to Race Control and the incident is placed under investigation.
