Everything is ready at Williams for the next Japanese Grand Prix, the sixteenth round of this 2019 Formula 1 world championship.

After the great difficulties faced on the Sochi circuit, with the FW35 never fighting for useful positions in the standings, Robert Kubica and George Russell will try to maximize the potential of the single-seater at Suzuka, collecting as much data as possible with a view to 2020.

“The Japanese Grand Prix is one of the most exciting events in the entire Formula 1 calendar,” said Robert Kubica. “The Suzuka circuit is a combination of truly challenging sections that maximize the car's potential, especially in the high-speed 's' of the first sector. The central part of the circuit, however, has a couple of slow points and a very fast area, with the latter taking you towards the final sector of the track. Suzuka has retained its DNA over time and is a great place to ride. Competing in front of a Japanese audience will be unique."

Here are George Russell's assessments: “I've wanted to race in Japan for some time and we're talking about a fantastic circuit. The fans are very passionate and I can't wait to revisit this experience as an official driver. I've only been to Japan once as a reserve driver and it was great to experience the weekend. The nature of the circuit should adapt to the characteristics of the car, which is why we hope to be able to show a little more pace."
