F1 | Japanese GP, Hamilton restarts taking the lead in FP1: the highlights of the session [VIDEO]

Bottas finishes with the second fastest time

We bring you the highlights of the first free practice session valid for the Japanese Grand Prix, the seventeenth round of this 2018 Formula 1 world championship. The session, we remember, was dominated by the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas, with the former capable of give the session an almost frenetic pace.

The Finn also performed well, competitive right from the start on the Suzuka track, even if the stopwatch placed him around four tenths behind his teammate. Third place for Daniel Ricciardo, an absolute surprise in the morning, followed by the two Ferraris of Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel, who was in slight difficulty during the Italian night.

The Reds, in fact, struggled quite a bit in terms of car set-up and balance, with the German unable to keep up with his rival for the title. The objective, precisely in this sense, will be to arrange everything in view of tomorrow, so as to be able to have a say from the front row.
