F1 | German GP, Bottas: “I had braking problems”
"With the rain everything is possible, I can fight well"
A bittersweet qualifying for Valtteri Bottas who will start from third place on the starting grid at Hockenheim tomorrow. The Mercedes Finn complained about braking problems and hopes that the weather can work in his favor in the race:
“As a team our result was good with Lewis doing a great job in qualifying and we also had a bit of luck with the problems the Ferraris had, we don't know how fast they would have been in Q3 but probably a lot. For my part, I felt pretty good in FP3 and thought qualifying would be interesting. I had some problems braking at turns 2 and 6, I had some lockups and therefore I lost confidence. I think I lost two or three tenths that I would have had in Q3, it wasn't the easiest qualifying and we need to examine why."
Tomorrow the forecast rain could change things and the Finn wants to take advantage of every opportunity:
“It will be a different day, with the rain anything is possible and I'm sure I can fight well.”
