Speaking on Sky Sport 24 at the end of the qualifying sessions valid for the French Grand Prix, the eighth round of this 2019 Formula 1 world championship, Carlo Vanzini spoke about the results obtained on Saturday in Le Castellet, underlining how Lewis Hamilton and the McLarens played the leading role on the French track.

The Englishman from Mercedes, in fact, won the eighty-sixth pole position of his career, putting himself forward for a leading role in today's race. A perfect qualifying, managed without the slightest error, which allowed him to inflict another blow on his teammate, Valtteri Bottas.

As for McLaren, the stupendous performance of Lando Norris should be noted, fifth and just a few thousandths behind Max Verstappen's Red Bull. A fantastic performance which confirmed the great talent of the young Englishman. Carlos Sainz also did well, sixth and fully fighting for the top positions in the standings.

Ferrari chapter: Leclerc, making the most of the potential of the SF90, closed his qualifying in third position, following Bottas' Mercedes. The objective, precisely in this sense, will be to overtake at least one of the Silver Arrows at the start, so as to stop a possible escape already in the first laps of the race.

Sebastian Vettel, however, did not go beyond seventh place, an aspect that will significantly complicate the plans for today's Grand Prix. See you this afternoon, 15.10pm on Sky Sport F1 HD, for the live broadcast of this 2019 French Grand Prix.
