F1 | Belgian GP, Renault: new engine for Hulkenberg and Ricciardo
Both drivers of the French team will suffer a grid penalty
On the weekend of the Spa Grand Prix, Renault will present itself with several new features, including a new engine which will be fitted on both official single-seaters.
As the transalpine team itself clarified, this is the C specification, the latest evolution available for the Viry Power Unit which brings with it small improvements both in terms of reliability and power. This means, however, that both Nico Hulkenberg and Daniel Ricciardo will be penalized, having already exceeded the maximum limit of units available for the entire season. Specifically, for the German it is the sixth engine, while for the Australian it is the fifth. Both will suffer a penalty of 5 places each on the grid, unless there are further changes in terms of parts fitted in the meantime.
