Istanbul Park ready to host Formula 1 again after last year's experience
F1 | GP Canada, Montreal ready to give up this year's race

The Coronavirus emergency and the impossibility of hosting the public in the grandstands could push the organizers of the Canadian Grand Prix to give up the slot scheduled for June 11th.

According to what was declared by the Canadian press, local authorities would not be able to support the huge organizational costs imposed by Liberty Media with a closed-door race, an aspect that would be pushing all the parties involved to give up the event, for the second time after that of last year. A hard and certainly unwanted choice, but necessary from an economic point of view.

Stefano Domenicali's staff, precisely in this sense, would be evaluating the opportunity to move the June 11th slot to Turkey, with Istanbul Park ready to get back into the running as happened last year. The Turkish organizers would have said they were ready to take the baton into their "hands", as long as everything happens within the necessary timescales to put together an event "of a level in line with the fans' expectations".

We will see in the coming weeks how this thorny "situation" will evolve.
