F1 | Canadian GP, Ferrari gives up its appeal?

According to information gathered by the German newspaper Motorsport-Magazin.com, Ferrari has given up on appealing for the penalty received from Sebastian Vettel in the Canadian Grand Prix.

The German, we remember, was sanctioned with a five-second penalty following the long turn at turn 3 during the 48th lap of the Montreal race. A decision taken by the stewards which had a major impact on the outcome of the race with the victory going to Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes.

Once the race was over, Ferrari, as team principal Mattia Binotto had declared, had notified the stewards of its intention to appeal against the penalty imposed on Vettel, thus claiming the victory obtained on the track. The Cavallino, as per the regulations, had 96 hours to decide whether or not to continue with the appeal.

Un time limit which expires today and which, as reported by Motorsport-Magazin.com, will almost certainly end without official action from Ferrari.
