In the Brazilian Grand Prix, the Mercedes' perforated rims, which caused so much discussion for being used on the W09 from Spa to Suzuka, returned, at least in the first two free practice sessions, allowing the Anglo/German team to drastically reduce the problem of overheating of the rear tires which caused the Silver Arrows to suffer so much in the first part of the championship.
