F1 | Belgian GP, ​​Spa is aiming for a multi-year contract

On Sunday, in the minutes preceding the start of the Belgian Grand Prix, the official announcement arrived that the Spa track would remain on the calendar for next season too. But this is only the first step. In fact, the Belgian event wants to continue to be an integral part of the history of Formula 1 and aims to obtain a multi-year extension with the FIA ​​and Liberty Media in the near future.

"Everyone was happy, from the spectators to the Formula 1 management and all interested parties – Spa GP promoter Vanessa Maes told the Sporza news agency – We received congratulations from Stefano Domenicali and even though I am a rather reserved person, I think I can say that we had an excellent Grand Prix. According to some it was one of the best, if not the best of recent years. I want to thank everyone who was involved because we wanted to show what we were capable of".

Speaking about future steps he added: “We will proceed step by step. The contract is confirmed for 2023, but we are also looking at the long term. It was very difficult to get this contract for 2023 because the seats are expensive. But among the races that are at the end of their contract, we are the first they can sign".
