The first day of free practice on the Sahkir circuit goes to Sebastian Vettel, author of the best time in 1.28.846. Behind him, his teammate, Charles Leclerc, trailed by just 25 thousandths. Third time for Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes; following: Valtteri Bottas, Nico Hulkenberg, Max Verstappen, Kevin Magnussen, Lando Norris, Romain Grosjean and Daniil Kvyat.

Ferrari dominates at the end of the second free practice session in Bahrain, the Mercedes are struggling to keep up with the Reds and it seems that the Silver Arrows don't want to hide. Question mark on Alfa Romeo with Antonio Giovinazzi and Kimi Raikkonen forced to pit for a long time. At the moment the cause of their absence on the track is not yet known.

Lewis Hamilton tries to take the lead, but remains in third position. With 1.28.846, Vettel regains the lead of the standings and, slightly behind, we find Leclerc in second position. Good performances for Nico Hulkenberg in fourth and Daniil Kvyat in fifth, while an opaque Daniel Ricciardo continues to struggle in thirteenth position.

Worth noting is the excellent performance of the Ferrari-powered Haas with Magnussen's seventh time and Grosjean's ninth.

Alfa Romeo chapter: both drivers remained in the pits for a long time during the session with Kimi Raikkonen completing six laps, while Antonio Giovinazzi only four. The driver from Martina Franca returned to the track at the end of the session but without significant improvements.

In the last half hour available, many drivers (including Vettel and Hamilton) mounted the medium compound, lapping at a constant 1.35. The German from Ferrari was the protagonist of a spin, no damage to the SF90 with Vettel who immediately got back on the track.

Charles Leclerc, improved in the final with 1.33.753 but not enough to finish in command. Nonetheless, a significant performance from the Monegasque, who lapped on yellow tyres.
