F1 | Austrian GP, Hamilton will start fourth instead of fifth

Lewis Hamilton had already gained fourth place even before the traffic lights went out. In fact, after the three-place penalty imposed on him today after qualifying, the Briton should have started from fifth place, but this is not the case, because Magnussen, due to the gearbox replacement, will be forced to serve five positions on the grid, thus starting tenth. At this point there would therefore be an empty "slot" left, which in this case is occupied by the English driver, who would move up to fourth position.

The matter is very convoluted and honestly we too struggled to understand it: Magnussen drops from fifth position to tenth, but that is occupied by Vettel, so he takes the place (by force of imagination) between the tenth and the eleventh. At that point the fifth position slot remains free, and that's where Hamilton ends up, but by doing so, the slot of the second position is empty, therefore, once all the penalties have been assigned, Verstappen will be second, Bottas third and Hamilton from the fifth to the fourth slot, therefore in the second row, with Vettel ninth and Magnussen finally tenth.
