Leclerc is a phenomenon. Verstappen limits the damage, Mick Schumacher is unblocked

F1 | GP Austria, let's give our votes to the protagonists! Here are our report cards

Charles Leclerc 10 The fifth victory is a symphony, like Beethoven's. A masterpiece of determination, class, aggression, coldness. It's the redemption victory after Silverstone. It is the victory that reopens the world championship. An exceptional qualifier and a tough driver in duels, we are discovering an unconventional flair and imagination in driving and overtaking. He is predestined with the stigmata of the phenomenon, he has something magical that excites.

Max Verstappen 9 Evidently he is a cyborg, who does not get upset, who does not bat an eyelid, who in a weekend in which his Red Bull greedily eats rubber, manages to limit the damage between sprint race and fastest lap, losing only five points from the fabulous Leclerc . This also means being champions.

lewis hamilton 8 Third podium in a row, another third place, another important test after the one at Silverstone, topped off by an overtaking by a champion in the section driven on Mick Schumacher's Haas. He's his usual driver, not at all demotivated, not in any crisis, just struggling with a single-seater that is only the third force on the track.

George Russel 7 Perez spurs and pays the price, having to move up from seventeenth position following the five-second penalty imposed on him. Nonetheless he put together a good race and finished fourth behind his teammate.

Esteban Ocon 8 Sixth in the Sprint Race, fifth on Sunday, he even takes the liberty of separating himself from Leclerc. He is having a great world championship, highlighting an Alpine team that is now ahead of McLaren in terms of performance.

Mick Schumacher 9 In the space of a week he fought with Verstappen and Hamilton proving that he knows how to be fast, correct and even mean. He shows the witches to Hamilton, to his teammate, he makes beautiful overtakings, he is angry on the track and also with the team. Intracted, unblocked, at times overwhelming, but always clear and precise in driving. If this is confirmed we will have fun.

Kevin Magnussen7 This time he can't do anything against the ferocity of his team mate, but he still finishes a very good race in eighth place, also complaining of some problems with the power unit...

Fernando Alonso 7 The Alpine that breaks is always his, and he starts to show signs of nervousness. The car shuts down before the start of the Sprint Race, effectively ruining his weekend. He races a comeback GP and finishes tenth at the finish line, gaining at least a small point.

Carlos Sainz 8 He doesn't have Leclerc's pace, and this is at least significant from a hierarchical perspective, but before the engine was completely burnt out he was having a great race and could have finished second.

Sergio Perez 6,5 Well done in recovering positions in Saturday's race, not judgeable on Sunday where he was knocked out by Russell.

Lando Norris (6,5) e Daniel Ricciardo (6) McLaren was reduced to being a sad extra surpassed in performance (and caught up in the standings) by Alpine. The two drivers neither add nor take away, with the usual Norris faster than Ricciardo, but at least the latter scores points this time and doesn't sail behind the pack.

Pierre Gasly 5 It no longer seems like it was in previous years, evidently it is paying the price of an AlphaTauri that is less competitive than expected. He makes a sensational mistake with Vettel. Bad.

Yuki Tsunoda 4 Intemperate, perhaps unbearable, for his opponents and for his own team. Marko advises him to calm down, Alonso explains to him by giving him the no sign how he drives himself, all during the braking at turn 4. "Epic" moment, but it makes it clear how much Tsunoda is a problem sometimes.

Valtteri Bottas 5,5 Alfa doesn't shine, it seems to have taken a step back in these last two GPs and it fails to worry Alonso in the final laps. He finishes on the edge of the points.

Sebastian Vettel SV Which are his initials, but also Senza Voto, because he is truly unjustifiable. When he can he fries fish with water, scoring points for this Aston which is truly a poor single-seater, then there are these weekends when all sorts of things happen to him. The slow car isn't enough, he is also knocked off the track by Gasly. The point is: how much is it worth for Vettel to race in these conditions? He is still a 4-time world champion, winner of 53 GPs.
