Interviewed by Sky Sport at the end of the qualifying session valid for the Austrian Grand Prix, the eighth round of this 2019 Formula 1 world championship, Mattia Binotto commented on the mechanical problem that stopped Sebastian Vettel's session, underlining how boredom is was caused by a mechanical interruption which stopped the air supply to the engine. A problem defined as 'stupid' by the Team Principal, but which did not allow the German to compete for pole position with his teammate.

As for Leclerc, however, Binotto wanted to compliment the great work done by the Monegasque in recent weeks, underlining how the latter is growing from weekend to weekend, improving his understanding of the car and the balance.
