F1 | Australian GP: Mercedes, Hamilton: “It was a beautiful day” [VIDEO]

The five-time world champion achieved his 84th pole at the Albert Park circuit. It goes without saying that tomorrow, the favorite to win will be The Hammer. Lewis Hamilton admitted that after the preseason, they didn't expect to be so fast:

“I'm still shaking. The crowd was incredible, I have to thank everyone for creating this atmosphere, it was a beautiful day. Coming out of the tests we had no idea that the situation would be like this, we clearly expected it, we owe all this to the guys who work in the factory. The weekend's work was close to perfection. Valtteri did an exceptional job, he came very close."

This is the Englishman's eighth pole in Australia and he thus beat two legends of the caliber of Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher:

“It's very nice, I have my family here, I wouldn't have done all this without my father”.
