F1 | Russian GP organizers want Grid Girls back in 2019

The organizers of the Russian Grand Prix have spoken to Liberty Media about getting the Grid Girls back. Despite the ban, many girls were present on the starting grid in Sochi, but not in an "official capacity". In Monte Carlo however, in defiance of the impositions of the owners of Formula 1, the Grid Girls were in their place like every year.

“I think Liberty Media's decision was strange and for many even shocking – said Sergei Vorobyov, organizer of the Russian Grand Prix at Sport Express. The automotive industry has long been associated with beautiful girls, and still is. We immediately spoke to Liberty Media: first of all, having children on the starting grid is not safe, and then the Russian girls are very beautiful and we as an organization want them at the Grand Prix. We spoke to other organizers and received support in this regard, and after a series of negotiations with Liberty Media we found an agreement. In the end the girls on the starting grid wore the same clothes they had in the past to show that we follow traditions. The girls/boys combination has been fixed. There will be a meeting with all the organizers in January and I hope there will be some reviews from Liberty Media. If there are any changes, much of the credit will be given to what happened in the Russian Grand Prix."
