F1 | Giovinazzi on Raikkonen: “Among the strongest ever”

Interviewed by "La Gazzetta dello Sport", Antonio Giovinazzi spoke about the relationship with Kimi Raikkonen, his teammate in Alfa Romeo Racing, underlining the excellent collaboration that exists between him and the Finn.

Thanks to the Finn's advice, the Italian from Ferrari managed to improve not only his driving, but also the management of relationships within the team, aspects that helped him achieve some good results at the end of last season.

As for 2020, however, the objective will be to confirm what he has done since the Spa-Francorchamps Grand Prix, earning a contract that would allow him to race for the Hinwill team also in 2021.

“Kimi not only knows what he wants, but also how to get the most out of the car in the race,” said Antonio Giovinazzi. “In this he is among the strongest ever. On the one hand this aspect didn't help me, given that at the beginning I was struggling and the difference in results seemed abysmal, but on the other hand I think it was an important reference".

“He and I have a fairly similar riding style, which is why I managed to grow quite quickly,” Antonio continued. “Beating him is one of the goals, but I don't want to focus too much on that. Personally I want to improve and bring home the best possible result for the team. It will be a crucial season, like many others, and there is a promotion or confirmation to be won on the table."
