F1 | Giovinazzi: “I hope to get a good result”

Antonio Giovinazzi is excited for the weekend in Monza, as he will have many supporters cheering for him. At Spa, the driver from Martina Franca had a good race but was involved in an accident on the last lap.

“I've always said that this is one of the grands prix that I watched as a child, obviously rooting for Ferrari. In 2016 (refers to the victory in GP2, ed.) I had one of my best races not only of that season but of my entire career. Now I'm here, I can't wait, there will be lots of people who will come here to support me, I hope to get a good result and enjoy my first weekend in Italy."

We haven't seen an Italian in Formula 2011 since 1, according to Giovinazzi the reason is economic:

“In go-karting when you're very young you start to dream of becoming a Formula 1 driver but even then it was too expensive, so there's not much support for younger drivers. It's very difficult to make the step from karting to Formula 4, I hope this can change, for my part I had to make a lot of sacrifices. It's not easy, this is one of the reasons why Italian drivers struggle to get to Formula 1."
