F1 | Giovinazzi in Sauber in 2019: “It's a dream come true”

All that was missing was the official announcement and it has finally arrived. Antonio Giovinazzi will be an official Sauber driver for the 2019 season, achieving his dream of racing in Formula 1.

After the official announcement, the Italian driver released his first words as a Sauber driver, saying he was honored to race for a team and a brand that have made the history of this sport: “I am happy to join the Alfa Romeo Sauber team. This is a dream come true and it is a pleasure to have the chance to race for this team. As an Italian, it is an honor for me to represent such an iconic and successful brand as Alfa Romeo in this sport,” said Giovinazzi.

The Italian also took the opportunity to thank those who were at his side and gave him the chance to join Formula 1 from next season: “I would like to thank Scuderia Ferrari and the Alfa Romeo Sauber team for giving me this great opportunity. I'm motivated and can't wait to start working to achieve great results together” concluded the Vasto rider.

After years as a reserve and simulator pilot, a new adventure finally begins for Giovinazzi, a chance to demonstrate his full worth.
