F1 | France ready to host a winter test session for the 2018 season

The “Le Castellet” circuit could host at least one winter test session in anticipation of the 2018 season. According to what was reported by Stephane Clair, manager of the transalpine track, a commitment is already being discussed with the teams during the February tests, this to help the organizers to better prepare the edition that will bring France back into the Formula One world calendar. The teams have used Ricard for some private tests, mainly to test the Pirelli compounds in anticipation of this year, but a collective session would help the organizers prepare for the official event which will be held on the weekend from 21 to 24 June .

Here are Clair's words: “Winter tests? Why not! We are discussing it with the teams and I must say that the idea is not bad at all. A test would help us perfect our work and it would be important to understand what the drivers think of the layout. We will start work in December and therefore it would be a first confirmation in anticipation of the official appointment in June. The teams know our services and therefore the idea of a winter test here cannot be ruled out. We will talk about it with the teams in the coming weeks."
