F1 | Come on Vettel, it's redemption time!

Seb, with a great performance on his home track Hockenheim, could put an end to a difficult calendar year that began on the German track

F1 | Come on Vettel, it's redemption time!

Finally over the weekend the words will leave room for the track. The theme that accompanied these weeks of pause was characterized by the "sentences" issued by the web courts against Sebastian Vettel, protagonist of the collision against Max Verstappen in the Silverstone race.

A blue pencil mistake, no doubt about it, which ruined all the good things the German had shown in the first half of the race at the British Grand Prix. Even on this occasion the people of social media did not spare Seb, defining him as a 'pilot' who would do better to end his experience in Formula One early. As if four world titles don't recognize the talent of this rider...

There is no doubt that Seb is not going through the best of times, but it is beyond doubt that he is now at the end of the line.

The calendar offers the German prompt redemption in 'his' Hockenheim, where last year he was the protagonist of a great qualifying which culminated with the pole position which was then thwarted on Saturday by that own goal while he was leading the race.

A retirement which caused a blackout for the rest of the German's season, dotted with other mistakes (the only gem being Spa) which however - it is fair to admit - were accompanied by the technical choices made by Ferrari which did not provide the right answers. Because you win and lose together: it is the (moral) rule of team sport, which many, however, tend to hide when Vettel is involved.

From Hockenheim to Hockenheim a circle could (finally) be closed, which would put a difficult calendar year to rest. In fact, in Seb, as reiterated by the undersigned in the recent past, a great result would be enough to regain that enthusiasm and enamel that have been eclipsed to date.

Clearly in Teutonic soil it will not be easy to stem the excessive power of Mercedes (like Vettel they also play at home), which continues unchallenged to rack up victories, to which is added the forceful return of Red Bull which has equaled Ferrari's performances in recent weeks , but we have to try.

It would also be the right way to commemorate Sergio Marchionne, whose first anniversary of his death will be tomorrow (25 July). There's no need to add anything else.
