F1 | Force India, Perez on the Ocon - Verstappen contact: "I wouldn't have doubled myself, but as leader I wouldn't have finished like that either"

Interviewed inside the Abu Dhabi paddock, Sergio Perez commented on the contact between Esteban Ocon and Max Verstappen during the last Brazilian Grand Prix, underlining how the Dutchman managed that precise moment of the race with little clarity, taking a risk elevated at a time where he could calmly wait.

According to the Force India standard-bearer, in fact, Ocon certainly damaged the Dutchman's race, but it must be admitted that the latter left very little space, facilitating the contact.

Precisely in this sense, Perez revealed that he would almost certainly have avoided that "doubling" maneuver, but that at the same time he would not have dared to close in that way if he had been at the top of the race.

Here are the words of Sergio Perez: “I wouldn't have been so aggressive with the leader in a situation like Brazil, but at the same time I would have left more space to those on the inside of me if I had been leading the race. I would have avoided unnecessary risks."

On the next season he added: “I feel good in this team and I think there is great potential for the future. I'm very motivated."
