F1 | Force India, Perez: “We can fight for important points”

After the race of Montreal, with the various controversies that have ensued regarding team orders, the Indian team wants to continue fighting for the top 5.

Last year Sergio Perez got on the podium at Baku, despite the penalty for the change. After the good performance of Montreal, the Mexican hopes to be able to fight for the important positions again:

“After the Canadian race there were a lot of opinions but I'm happy that the team let us ride without team orders. I will always fight for the best results and after Montreal I feel positive, the car was fast and we were competitive. It's a good sign for Baku, another track with long straights and where you brake hard. I think we'll be in great shape.".

Esteban Ocon he still has a bitter taste in his mouth after seeing the podium slip away in Montreal but now it's time to learn another track that he only knows thanks to video games:

“I really enjoyed racing for the first time in Canada. When I got out of the car I thought the race had only lasted a quarter of an hour! The team did a great job, improving after each session. It was nice to fight for the podium and see how competitive we are, this gives me even more motivation to race in Baku, another new track but I think I won't have any difficulties, I'm sure I can find the pace very quickly".
