F1 | Force India, Perez: “We have not shown our true potential”

The Indian team concluded the Silverstone grand prix in the top 10; the best was Esteban Ocon who finished ahead of his teammate, in eighth position.

The French driver confirms himself once again among the best rookies of the season, finishing eighth, making his debut on the English track with Formula 1:

“I made a brilliant start, I recovered two positions but at the end of the first lap I was overtaken by Hulkenberg. Afterwards I had a good fight with Sergio which lasted almost the whole race and the team made us race, just like in Canada. He was fast and put pressure on me but I managed to stay in front. It's satisfying that we both finished in the points. Consistency is our strength this year, in all the races we are fast and take points. We must continue in this direction also in the second half of the championship.".

Sergio Perez he is not entirely satisfied with today's race since, in his opinion, the true potential of the car was not revealed:

“It was a difficult race and I have the feeling that we didn't show our true pace. We could have finished higher in the standings but in the end we managed to finish in the points. I made a mistake at the start and this compromised the whole afternoon because I wasn't able to recover. At Silverstone it is very difficult to overtake and staying behind a car for a long time damaged the tires and cost me a lot of downforce. However, I am positive about this first part of the season, we are working well and I hope we can improve further for the next race and after the break.".
