F1 | Force India, Perez: “Today gave me a lot of confidence”

The driver of the Indian team concluded the first day of testing on the Spanish circuit with the tenth fastest time, completing 93 laps.

Here are Sergio Perez's statements:

“It was a good day's work. We tried different tire compounds and understood much more about our new car. I only have one more day in the car before Melbourne, but today gave me a lot more confidence about where we are now with the car and the set-up. We still have a lot of work to do before we are where we want to be but hopefully we will be fit when we get to Melbourne. It's hard to say how we compare to other teams because we're all on different schedules and fueled, but I'm excited about this year; it will be very interesting. Pirelli has been quite aggressive with the compounds and this should give many more strategic options, which should eventually deliver exciting races.".
