F1 | Force India, Perez: “The most difficult race of my career”

The Indian team leaves Malaysia with a haul of nine points thanks to sixth place Sergio Perez and on the ninth of Esteban Ocon.

Good performance for the Mexican driver considering the health problems he had throughout the Malaysian weekend:

“This was probably the most difficult race of my career, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to continue the weekend. It's an excellent result just for the fact that I managed to finish the race and for this I have to thank the doctors. Getting a good start was the key to my race and after passing Vandoorne I managed my race, managing the tires well too. I was just put under pressure by Vettel but that wasn't my fight. We picked up some important points for the team and I'm happy to leave with a good result after a difficult weekend; I hope to feel better in Japan".

Despite the top 10, Ocon is not satisfied with today's result:

“It was a disappointing race and I'm not happy. The contact with Massa on the first lap caused me a puncture, ruining my race. I had to make the pit stop immediately and run for most of the race on the soft tires and considering the condition of the tires at the end of the race, we scored some important points. The other negative episode of my race was when I was about to overtake Sainz and he came at me. I don't know what he did, he closed the door and came in, making me turn around. It's a race to forget because we had a good pace but we couldn't do more".
