F1 | Force India: Ocon, “Quite a positive day”

The Indian team concluded the first day of free practice on the Austin circuit with the ninth fastest time Sergio Perez, followed by his teammate, Esteban Ocon.

Here are the statements of Sergio Perez:

“We can be quite happy with the work we have done. We have collected a lot of data and we are in a good position for the rest of the weekend although I am not entirely convinced about the development of the tires we tested in FP1. It will be difficult to make a difference but I'm confident we can do it: the car works well, especially in the hottest conditions, so we're starting from a good base.".

Here are the statements of Esteban Ocon:

“All in all it was a positive day, we tested various things on the car, working on the setup. Finding the balance wasn't as easy as in Malaysia and Suzuka so we still have some work to do but we're getting closer to where we want to be. I have no doubt that we will improve for qualifying. We still have to find something in the fast corners and that's where we will focus our work most.".
