F1 | Force India, Ocon: “Disappointing to end the season like this”

The Indian team concluded the 2018 season confirming seventh place in the constructors' championship. Unlucky race for Esteban Ocon, forced to retire, while Sergio Perez he crossed the finish line in eighth place.

Stephen Ocon: "It's a very frustrating way to end the season. Everything was going well, we had some fantastic battles and overtaking, and the pace we had was really good. We weren't in the best strategy because we had to start on the hypersoft tyres, but we had managed to recover well and were looking for a good result in the points. We did everything well as a team but unfortunately the car had an oil leak which forced us to retire. That's what racing is like: days like these are disappointing, but they make you stronger. I am grateful for all the support I have received from the fans, people within the sport and of course the team this season.".

Sergio Perez: “Considering everything that happened this weekend, I'm happy to have finished in the points. I wasn't happy with the car and I didn't have the pace we expected. We never solved the balance problem and I think there might be some damage somewhere in the car. The start of the race was very important and after a very strong first lap I moved up into the top ten. After that, the strategy worked as planned and my main challenge was with Leclerc. I was very close to him in the last laps, but I didn't have the pace to overtake him. I'm happy to have been able to protect the team's seventh place in the championship and it was important to end the season with some points.".
