F1 | Force India, rejected the name "Force One" for 2018

Mallya: "We want to confirm ourselves in the next championship too"

F1 | Force India, rejected the name "Force One" for 2018

In an interview with Auto Hebdo, Otmar Szafnauer spoke again about the name change that Force India will implement in 2018, underlining how Force One is not among the list of possible names for the future. According to the FOM, in fact, the name in question can be abbreviated with "F1" and this goes against the copyright rules imposed by the Circus. Force India is therefore evaluating other names and an official decision will be made by the end of the year. The Indian team, we remember, wants to remove the name "India" for a question of sponsorships and appeal, making the team more global and commercial.

Speaking on the team's recent performances, however, Vijay Mallya set the objectives for the 2018 season, underlining how the Indian team will try to conquer fourth place in the constructors' championship for the third time in a row.

Here are the words of Vijay Mallya: “We can't compete with the huge budgets of production teams, but we make the most of what we have and our resources. Maintaining fourth place will be a challenge, but we have stability in all areas of the team and a very strong driver line-up, so we are ready."
