F1 | FIA: the 2019 calendar is official

Today in St. Petersburg, the World Motor Sport Council, chaired by the president FIA, Jean Todt and by the vice president Graham stokerDuring the assembly, the calendars of the main motor sports and the changes regarding the regulations were made official.

Regarding the 1 F2019 regulations, the following decisions have been made:

  • Ensure fuel handling procedures are the same during testing as they are during racing events
  • Make sure the way the starting grid is formed is clear when multiple penalties are imposed
  • Keep cars under yellow flag conditions until they reach the control line after the safety car has pitted
  • Allow unlimited CFD simulations for car development in compliance with 2021 regulations.

The council then approved the following amendments to the 2019 technical regulations:

  • Adjustments to Article 3 to provide greater clarity in some areas, mainly relating to the front wing
  • An adjustment to Article 4, with an increase in the weight limit from 740 kg to 743 kg
