The Scuderia di Maranello published a press release to express its closeness to the family of Sergio Marchionne, whose health conditions have worsened.
Maranello (Italy), 21 July 2018 – The Board of Directors of Ferrari NV (“Ferrari”) (NYSE/MTA: RACE) meeting today learned with deep sadness that President and CEO Sergio Marchionne will not be able to resume his work.
The Council is close to Sergio Marchionne and his family, and is grateful for the extraordinary contribution he has made in recent years at the helm of Ferrari.
The Board has therefore decided to appoint John Elkann as President and will propose to the shareholders' meeting, which will be convened soon, to appoint Louis C. Camilleri as CEO.
The Board also granted Louis Camilleri the necessary powers to guarantee continuity of the company's operations.
