F1 | Ferrari, Vettel returns to Marchionne's death: "The team has always remained united"

Interviewed by the newspaper Marca, Sebastian Vettel ruled out that Ferrari's world defeat was caused by the sudden death of former president Sergio Marchionne, underlining how the team, despite the news, has always remained united and compact.

According to what the German reported, in fact, the sudden power vacuum certainly had repercussions within the team, given the great work done by the former CEO of FCA over the last three years, but at the same time Ferrari is formed by many departments that work in complete independence, which is why there is no connection between the period of crisis experienced after Singapore and the sudden death of the former President.

Here are the words of Sebastian Vettel: “It is wrong to say that we lost the world title due to the death of the President. Obviously what happened had an effect, but the team always remained united, which is why it would be unfair to create a direct connection between the performance on the track and what happened off it."

“Marchionne was a fundamental part of the team and it is never easy to suddenly lose a leader, but Ferrari is a great team, with a lot of departments working in complete independence, which is why there is no connection between the two things", he added.
