F1 | Ferrari, Vettel: “Today confirmed the photograph of the last races”

Fifth time for Sebastian Vettel in qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix.

On the Hungaroring track, the German from Ferrari achieved his best performance in 1'15"071, half a second from the pole position obtained by Max Verstappen's Red Bull and just 28 thousandths of a second from teammate Charles Leclerc.

Vettel, analyzing the outcome of the official tests and the difficulties encountered by the SF90 on a slow track like the Hungarian one, said in all honesty: “Today was as we expected and confirmed the picture that emerged in the last few races: our car performs very well on the straight and is not the best in the corners, and as a result we struggle to safeguard the tires until the end of the lap when it comes to looking for time. This is demonstrated by the fact that we are the fastest in sector 1 and then we suffer in the rest of the circuit".

On expectations in view of tomorrow's GP he added: “The race will be very difficult precisely because of tire management: based on the characteristics of our car I hope for high temperatures, because they would allow us to try to annoy our rivals. If this is not the case we will have a race with only one stop and less chance for us to have our say. Overtaking here is difficult, but not impossible. Let's see what happens tomorrow".
